In Battle Poem by Naveed Akram

In Battle

Caught in the leader’s battle
My effects are the same, and that is.
Underneath the real commotion is a side,
One dish too many to concoct.
The real values of a difficult man
Are too many to name, and they defy.
Different lives have different values
To forage the mushrooms of a wild sort.
The wildness is encouraging but absurd,
Nobody is creeping up to me now.
The battle is won after the armistice,
The stalemate is not genuine.
