In A Universe Poem by Jerry Danielsen

In A Universe

In a universe of strings and membranes
my thoughts are a vortex

my TV is off
my book is open

the big bang singularity
opens my head

glowing orange
pollen absent

struck strongly
by vibrations

notes hold the world together
tuning the string theory

in an imaginative leap
science imagines poetry

and conversations stop.

Look!
a flower grows.

Patient and unknowing
a complete explanation
comes through time and
changes the realm of mathematics.

one bubble
in an ocean

A safe space
without displacing
other bubbles

and yet -
a flower vibrates
on a plane
we see
smell and think.

Let's fall all the way down
to the point of the bubble

and grow for the sake of it.

Love becomes important
and everything falls away...
