In A Heart Beat Poem by Myrtle Thomas

In A Heart Beat

In A Heart Beat

until thoughts are roses
and nightmares forgotten dreams
when tears are only exquisite gems
and a smile is eternal moon beams

when cold black onyx become coals of fire
and a river a detailed road map
that could only lead to desire
like a romance novel on mid shelf

if your touch could melt a heart
and start a raging ocean's wave
until imaginations cease
or a hearts emotion save

but heart beats are only heart beats
that move a body to warmth
and visions only blind eyes
for love if not true can only cause harm.
