Imperfection Poem by Ayana Hicks

Imperfection

Everything is not what it seems to be
When we are living in a world
Of black and white
With grey skies
And imperfections
They never make sense
They don't satisfy
With broken hearts
And voices so fragile
We can barely speak
We could barely close our eyes
Because you and I
Are looking away
Far away
From perfect.

And we're wasting away
Looking back at memories so independent
They want nothing to do with us
And I'm just a shadow
Painted in my innocent form
Waiting for you
And you're pulling my heart strings
Plucking off each person who broke my heart
Except you
And you are seeming to get my feelings right
But our feelings for one another
Is incorrect
Because of the world, it knows
But you and I
Are looking away
Far away
Imperfect angel.

I call upon you.
