Immutability

Rating: 5.0

Although things change they stay the same.
What changes is our point of view
beneath the sun theres nothing new
Although things change they stay the same.

We only see part of the game.
Circumstances limit our view
we tend to see what we want to.
Although things change they stay the same.

There is no need for praise or blame.
From time to time we must review
the way we see things: So we do,
although things change they stay the same.

Although things change they stay the same.
What changes is our point of view
beneath the sun there’s nothing new.
Although things change they stay the same

' Although things change they stay the same' I loved the way you played with rhythm in this poem. Wonderful job!

Ivor, spoken like a true pessimist. Which you're decidely not, so I take it as an exercise in mitigating perspective. The poem works well because you keep it under tight rythmic control, repeating lines as echoes to substantiate the message. Well done. Rgds, Ivan
