Immortality Poem by Ilana Sabio

Immortality

As I watch each moment pass………..by I think
I could be doing something much more interesting
I wish I could be immortal
Not have each moment known as a blessing
Not have each thought lead to DEATH
To not cower waiting for the end to near

Although immortal is not all okay
I would rather die than watch others die around me
To see people leave without me behind their lead
Then what, what’s the point of life
Like my dad says, the point of life is to live it to your fullest

'As I watch each moment pass.........by i think' I'm pleased the narrator pause to give thought to her first line. There's no permanence in life but the gift [ a writer/ poet] with which you're endowed is immortal. The first line of your poem grabbed my heart and didn't let go! All i'll say is Kudos my dear...grandma remembers at 5 years old, you stood over my shoulder watching me write and said grandma, I can write, and you did just that! Love, grandma
