Immortal Tears

Silence
Doomed a heart to ode-less fear
Silence
Leaves pierced skin and yearnings sear
Silence
Left life for dead and without reprieve
Silence
Let a dreamer cease to believe
Silence
Let shadows rise without alarm
Silence
Shall not help our world but cause it harm
Silence
Is followed by the bang that ends our life
Silence
Ends
Our
World....

Poem of the Day

poet Charles Stuart Calverley

He stood, a worn-out City clerk —

For forty years from dawn to dark —
Alone beside Caermarthen Bay.
