Imagine Me Poem by Viola Grey

Imagine Me

Rating: 2.8

If that's how you want it to be,
then follow this shadow
into daylight.
Don't rely on me to confirm your dreams,
I am a living demon
wrapped in a flatlining
nightmare.
You seek a light within me
but cower behind
the truth you find.
I am not what you wanted me to be,
I am merely the body
walking in a daze
through days,
skipping across paths
I often fear to tread.
Am I really what you imagined
in cold, frigid dreams,
or I am I but a husk
of reality.
