Imagination (English Sonnet) Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Imagination (English Sonnet)

Fanciful delight filled the young girl eyes
In her child's world of color and wonder.
Her quaint dragon friend had a big surprise,
They were having a bunny party there!

Bright yellow bell cups held the morning's dew
As the tree nymph sang, music filled the air.
She whispered secrets (just like children do)
Of her glee and excitement for the affair.

Such was the felicity in her heart!
Such was the hidden joy, the innocence!
What happens to these when growing years start?
Does it all fade away into absence?

That child is still in us and she slumbers,
But Imagination.... awakens her.
