Image Of Love Poem by Britney Hogue

Image Of Love

Rating: 4.8

There’s an image of you
That I cannot remove
Its so serene, so beautiful
It only happens once a day

When the sun touches horizon
And sends fingers of orange
Unto the sky
Grasping its last moments
Before the dark of night
Swallows it whole

The way the light hits the trees
Is enough to lure me in.
But when you hold me close
So close
That the rhythm of your heart beat
Could just as easily be my own
It's impossible for me to refuse

That feeling I wish could last forever
When the sun cast its grasping rays
Reflecting against our loving bodies
Creates the blazing orange aura
The visual of what love must be

This is the image I cannot remove
Eternally with me
For the rest of my years
That’s not a bad thing
I can promise you that
Just the feeling
Of a new chapter
And a different direction of our lives.
