Illusions Are Essential Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Illusions Are Essential

Respond like a leopard in heat
The ground of being cleansed in sleep
Contradictions as pure as sex
I love your dysfunctional exhibitionism
Your family really messed you up
Maudlin wet thighs kiss me
Her silk stockings of Dostoevsky
Patricide shines like a birdbath

Classic poetry needs nuclear weapons
Erotic despair sublimated with romance
Underneath the marble floors, hell
Evil fascinates the children of love
Fragments, duplicity, complex sexuality
She says, “Please let me in”
My darkness crawls all over her
Illusions are essential
