If You Only Knew Poem by Edwina Reizer

If You Only Knew

If you only knew what you mean to me
There would never be doubt in your mind.
Each day that passes would reveal to you
That even though the world is unkind
That makes no difference to me at all.
I don’t focus on what the world is doing.
I’m intent on giving my heart to you,
intent on all the wooing.

I feel sorry for those who’ve never known love.
For they’ve missed what is best.
To go through life without the eyes of the one
that has chosen you as his conquest
is a lonely place to dwell.
To me it is the place that presents itself
as something close to hell.

But that will never occur for you
because of what you mean to me.
Every day starts and ends with you
for you bring out the best I can be.
If you only knew what you mean to me
your mind would be at rest.
And your body and soul which connects to mine
would know how they’ve both been blessed.
