If You Can Overlook The Flaws In Others Poem by Francis Duggan

If You Can Overlook The Flaws In Others

It's the flaws we have that only make us human
And the flaws we have are never hard to see
And if you can only look for flaws in others
How cynical a person you must be.

It's been said that in the souls of the most evil
There is a tiny seed of good somewhere
The other seeds of good died in their childhood
They only needed tender loving care.

If you look for the imperfections in others
Your own imperfections you will not address
The negativity you feel for others
Will spoil your chance for your true happiness.

If you can overlook the flaws in others
And see the many good traits they possess
Your change in attitude won't go un-noticed
And your detractors suddenly grow less.

You don't attract negative vibes from others
If you don't judge and unfairly criticize
Our personality is our reflection
Which after all is really no surprise.
