If You Are Really A Poet

Rating: 5.0

If you are really a poet
Come to me and show me
Your words with clean chit.

Come to me and see me
I am in your words, my dear poet
If you are really a poet.

Your words are within me
If you are really a poet
Come and take it away from me.

A final PS: None of our chits are clean! (I'm sorry, that just sounds so funny in American English that I just had to say it. and I'm still laughing. Am I still in Jr. High?) I think what you are really saying here (and of course I agree) is that we all stand on the shoulders of Giants! And God bless them everyone. Our debt is truly immense!

Here I am, but all modesty aside, truth is simply true, so I am in your words too, dear poet. Want to arm wrestle? (That could be fun but I should warn you (though I'm 71) I've been lifting weights! : -) Maybe there's no need for either of us to lose anything? There are many truths. Perhaps we could just share? Ha!
