If We Meet Again Poem by Mellinda Aimee Jajalla

If We Meet Again

Rating: 5.0

If once upon a tomorrow we happen to meet again,
After three, five, or ten years; doesn't really matter when
Let's sit at a quiet place for it's been a while
And talk about the bittersweet memories that passed us by.

Let's talk of the first time we met each other,
And all those that we could well remember,
Let's talk of those times when worries were less,
When life's undeniably too youthful for a great mess.

Let's bring back the days we spent dreaming for our tomorrows
And those when even petty reasons could give us sorrow
Let's talk of the nights we spent sleepless under the moonlit sky
When life was still carefree, and young hopes were high.

Let's laugh at all those heartaches that once made us cry
Let's cry for the yesterday we bid our goodbyes
When finally we're done gathering each memory we've shared together,
Let's talk of the days we missed out on each other.

And when we realize we're already running late
For our busy life of bills and coffees that starts at eight
We'd finally have to bid another painful goodbye,
Well I'm certain at this point I'm gonna have to cry.

And with my sweet tears I'll tell you, 'Let's sit and talk, my friend...'
'...if once upon a fateful day we happen to meet again.'
