If There Were No West 1 Poem by nadia abduljabbar

If There Were No West 1

If there were no WEST-
Apart from their political
Mislead interests or activities,
I would have gone crazy,
Or intellectually dead.

If there were no WEST,
Sure, I met some destructive
Lecturers in the WEST;
Two or three ones,
Here and there in England,
Who tried to abuse me,
But in Vain, I left their
Departments, Universities
And certificate for them,
And will always love
England against their
Unhealthy will.

But all in all the West
Is so good in the domain
Of encourging CREATIVITY,
And giving GOOD instruction
And information to learners
And scholars whether
They are from The East
Or The West in general,
With few exception here
And there, every now
And then.
We shouln’t genaralize
From one bad experience
Or two or even ten
On a whole population.

If there were no West
There would have been
No Noble House Publishing
Company Who chose several
Of my poems to be
Published as number one
In their annual books.
Thus brighten my spirit
Like lightening
In The heavens
And brought the best
Of my mind to the net.

I took the poems to
Khadijah Bawazeer;
My closest friend;
Who is appreciated stunningly
By professors in
CAMPRIDGE and
Asked her: why is
This happening to me?
Because they are good
Unbiased people who
Appreciate new ideas
And true intellectuality:
So she said.

Thank You Allah; God;
The Creator of this World,
For creating
Both East and West,
For Each one makes
It up for what the other
Is lacking.

If ther were no West
That did for me what
No one in my homeland
Did, I would have,
Metaphorically speaking,
Killed myself.
