nice sentiment. well structured, though I would like it better if the repeating line was repeated only once per stanza. Still you hose great examples for your imagery. my favorite lines are:
'Then all the stars, that in their place
    Have eons roamed abroad,
Would long ago have lost the trace' (Report) Reply

This poem is a kind of cryptic, i so much love the style used. 'If there be no God, i guess man will feel the plight' (Report) Reply

This is so very beautiful. I have been searching for a poem like this on PH for sometime now, and I finally found it. Thank you so much for writing this. It is so lovely, and has a powerful message that all the world should hear.

    Sincerely,

Even from an agnostic point of view this poem makes perfect sense.
Our world definitely wouldn't be what it is today without Him or Her.
    Short and sweet. (Report) Reply

Lovely piece, Adeline. God makes it all possible, and sometimes I wonder what kind of people are responsible for all the pain and suffering in the world. Certainly they have no God in their lives, else they could not treat their fellow man the way they do. Your words are few but powerful.

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

A little while a little love
The hour yet bears for thee and me
Who have not drawn the veil to see
If still our heaven be lit above.
Thou merely, at the day's last sigh,
