If's And Then's; You And Me Poem by Diem Enjee

If's And Then's; You And Me

If all my fears are coming true,
and all the thoughts of me and you
are fading to some recent past,
then spare my heart a sturdy cast.

Because I worry all day long
if, in your life, there's something wrong,
and I'd like to know and see
if you would have someone like me

to be a crutch to lean on still,
but only if it is your will,
and if it's not, then that's okay;
I'll be here for you, one day.

When you need me, I'll be there;
I would travel anywhere
just to make sure you're alright
and to get you through the night.

And if you don't, I'll just sit still,
so long as that shall be your will
because the pain that I'd endure,
o'er your beauty; charm; allure,

would be worth it when the thought
of the happiness I brought
to you came into my mind
because I wasn't left behind.

So if my fears are coming true,
and this poem speaks for you,
then just breathe a simple sigh,
and look at me, and say goodbye.

But if these words do not apply,
then still, on me, you can rely.
Just look at me, and smile bright,
and I'll be smiling every night.
