If Of Others Poem by Francis Duggan

If Of Others

If of others you have only ill to say
You waste your life and you waste your time of day
For it does indeed seem a wasted energy
The stuff born out of negativity.

We have our frailties we all can be frail
And why set the poor sad battlers up to fail
To injury of character words they are the fuel
And some people with their words can be so cruel.

If you have never lived in others shoes
Especially those who you say were born to lose
On your behalf it would be far more wise
If them you did not harshly criticize.

Since life is already hard enough on them indeed
Your harsh criticism they don't surely need
In life there's such a thing as take and give
And in life also there is live and let live.

If you are not sin free why do you cast the stone
Perhaps you should leave well enough alone
And if of others you have only ill to say
You waste your life and you waste your time of day.
