If I Were Like Wizards Poem by Elia Michael

If I Were Like Wizards

Rating: 4.3

If I were like wizards
I'd wave my magic wand
And conjure up some words
From the back of beyond

Words would at my command
Assemble in verses
Walking in hand in hand
With their little purses

There'd be strict discipline
For I like poetry
To follow a certain
Form that is plain to see

If I were a wizard
I'd choose words of all kind
It wouldn't then be hard
To equal Sappho's mind

If I were a wizard
But clearly I am not
Neither am I The Bard...
I think I've lost the plot
