If I Were A Poet Poem by Cee Bea

If I Were A Poet

If I were a poet
you'd be a poem
If i wanted to travel
you'd stay at home

If I were pepper
you'd be sea salt
If I were silent
you'd want to talk

If I stood still
you'd want to sway
If I were the night
you'd proclaim 'you are the day'

when Honest and true
you proclaim it a rue
I'll be what I'll be
and you'll do what you do

Yes I was stupid
I should have stood still
so I do now
and forever I will
