If I Tell You Your Own Bad Feelings Poem by Shalom Freedman

If I Tell You Your Own Bad Feelings

IF I TELL YOU YOUR OWN BAD FEELINGS

If I tell you your own bad feelings
Does it help?

If I in describing myself
Describe you
Does it mean something?

Or is it all only words,
And does each one suffer what they suffer alone
And consolation through poetic compassion
Nothing more than a minor self- indulgence
For the ego glory of the writer

And not really much help to the reader?
