If I Go Away Poem by DICKSON MSETI

If I Go Away

I have been around thousands minutes,
But I cannot call myself a purity person,
I cannot sing the glory song about me,
But if I go tomorrow, I will sing a glory song for you.

I have been with you as a son, so is as a friend,
Although I have not been all around the best,
I have always been safe under your nest,
If I go tomorrow, I will cherish the great memories we had.

You were my great inspirations, neighbors and collogues,
It was six years of learning and prosperous moments,
We danced, worked, played and had tough and great times,
If I go tomorrow, I will remember and never will I forget.

I have had some tough times but none can match this one,
How can it be so easy to leave the climate I cherish?
How can I just forget the people I called, Mama, kaka, dada, baba?
If I go tomorrow, I will mark this day as the toughest of all.

The bond we created shall grow over and over again,
With the laughter and smiles around our brains,
From all that was created, I was made stronger,
If I have to go tomorrow, I say thank you for making the better me.
The company will never seas for my departure I know,
The tears will never be shade for my exit I know,
The time will never stop for me leaving I know,
But the moment we had will stay here I know.
