If I Could Stop The Blues Poem by tallulah montegue

If I Could Stop The Blues

If I could...

Remove the needles in my heart
The brick in my stomach
And the lead in my feet
I could fly

If I could take the pain out of my heart
And hold it in my hand like a butterfly
Then let it fly

If I could let my feelings out to form beautiful clouds
If I could breathe my blues into the air towards the sky
And add to the blue

If I could turn the clock back to where I was happy
If I could have seen the pain before it began
If I could have known the outcome of the journey
I could have taken the fork in the road instead
