If I could learn how to wait
I will learn not to quit
I will learn not to hate
I will learn not to faint

If I could learn how to wait
I could probably lessen all my mistakes
I won’t live by disgrace
I could probably prevent ones heartaches

If I could learn how to wait
I’m learning to be patient
I’m learning to shut my mouth and listen
I’m learning to seek God in prayer

If I could learn how to wait
Surely, one day, my soul will be glad
