If I - Poem by Mark Heathcote

If I
Was to kiss you
Would you pout or refrain
Make this heart chug a locomotive
Steam train…

Steam train…
Hot to sizzling,
Would your whole breast expand?
Likewise with mine to bursting point
If I

If I
Was to kiss you
Full-on without regret
Would you linger - cue my signal
And kiss…

And kiss…
As if it were-
One of many, more to come
Like it was the last kiss on earth
If I…?
