~if Holly Could Speak~ Poem by E Nigma

~if Holly Could Speak~

There's a terrible twist to this
For this stories been told amiss
So, follow closely if you will
Watch as the tale unfolds

Like the royal red carpet
Rolled out and bleeding
Beneath the feet of those
That chose the walk of fame

Accompanied by the weary steps
Of silent pains, burdened while carried
The strobe light probing sessions
Capture memories that are sold by the dealers

To the attention starved vicarious followers
That feast on private parties
They would otherwise never see
Whenever they need another fix of an altered reality

If Holly could speak
Holly would tell
Of the Hollywood hell behind the scenes
The broken dreams, the public eye never sees

Hidden for appearance sake
The priceless illusion is at stake
If the image fails, the curtain falls
The ship sets sail, the attentions gone

A magician without magic
Is a world that's forced to cope
With a reality that is tragic
No longer distracted
From the world they forgot to love
