If Poem by Andrea Lopez

If

If you have the mind to be learning
While others are mindless
If you be the one that's earning
When the room is nor soundless
If you could be tested
While others are unsure
If you could follow the lesson
While others cannot endure
If you are not disgraceful
While others are cruel
If you are not ungrateful
While others are the fool
If you are calm
While others are frivolous
If you can keep your head under your palm
While your class acts so hideous
Now my dear daughter
Use this sensible knowledge
Listen to me your father
Then you could go off to collage
