If Poem by Alc Harris

If

Rating: 5.0

If only we could rewrite the past
When you told me you love me
I would not have laughed
Turned around and walked away
In your arms I may have stayed
And if only we could relive our past
Id have known that day would be our last
Would have savoured every mouthful then
Rewind and played again..again
Like seeds carried in the wind
If only we could catch our dreams
Understand what each one means
And tread our path the way of fate
Never wondering if it is too late
If only.. if onlys will not change the past
Nor bring things closer to our grasp
But wither up thoughts of when
As ghost do haunt again, again
Ifs are just echoes through time
If will never make you mine
In retrospect we only see
What was never meant to be
