Ice Within The Fire Poem by G J Salgado

Ice Within The Fire

Rating: 5.0

Through the coldest ocean waves I came
The wind blew faster just the same
Emerging from Midnight's darkest moon
Waking in the midst of a brighter noon
It burnt faster than any other flame
Nothing waited for the sound of my name
Time was there and I knew it would be soon
I desired what I knew could never be boon

Still I doubted what the night had brought
Tempting were the howls inside my thoughts
Once the torments ended it no longer visited my mind
It was the moment that your blood bled into mine
Freezing inside from the chills of the world's pain
Its wickedness was buried deep beyond where it came
By the ocean waves I came quicker than the flames of desire
Frozen among the dark I became the ice within the fire
