Icarus Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Icarus

Poor youth wanting to fly to Olympus
Flapping with wings of wax
Beautiful boy above the clouds
Warned not to go near the sun.

Heat from the sun melting the wax
Plunging to earth
Body broken and crushed
Remembered by those who dream.
