I WISH I COULD WRITE A HAPPY POEM TONIGHT

I wish I could write a happy poem tonight
I told myself I would try to inspire to greater happiness
I cannot
There is too much that is not happy in my life
Too much complaint too much anger too much bitterness
Too much rejection too much failure too much disapproval
Too much unhappiness
I wish I could write a happy poem tonight
Instead I write a small confession of difficult truth
It is not easy from where I am now
And within myself it is hard to feel joy.
