I wish that I had a Dad
Who cuddled me when I fell
I wish that I had a Dad
Who didn't scream and yell

I wish that I had a Dad
Who took me up to bed
Tucked me in, said goodnight
and kissed me on the head

I wish that I had a Dad
Who took me to the park
Played with me on the swings
Held me close when it got dark

I wish that I had a Dad
who carried me on his shoulder
carry me so very high
until I was much older

But most of all I wish
that my dad hadn't left me
All alone, crying...
And thinking what could be

Why did you leave me Dad
Did I do something wrong
Don't you love me any more
Where have you gone?
