‘i Will Never Sleep Until…’ Poem by BlessedMudiaga Adjekpagbon

‘i Will Never Sleep Until…’

(Dedicated to all the kidnapped Chibok girls)
Life’s voyage could be fortunate or ill-fated
As many unexpected records are created
From good to bad or bad to good
With fingers of circumstances and ingredients for food;
When he brought back the project for book
That all may not only look
But read to drink constant knowledge seeds
To totally burn illiteracy weeds
The skies went wild with many friendly cheers
Till weather’s wings brought us tears
By increment of fuel pump price
Hitherto smiling faces became ice
Side by side Boko’s madness spreading rain
As innocent folks prematurely flew in pain
To heaven or hell we don’t know
Before Chibok’s cocks came to crow
Trillions have already lost hope in him
Though some good fishes in his river swim…
But who can pacify hungry people’s anger
In the midst of plenty food vanishing asunder?
As he has taken the bull by the horns
To bring back our girls from the demons’ guns
Let’s once again try to see some goodness in his ‘sims’
Though our calls were formerly seen as empty screams...
