I-We And Me Poem by Terry L. Allen

I-We And Me

When I and me become we
and times threaten reverse.

When we stay the course
in opposition to today's prevail
of the selfserving I with no remorse.

We can raise the standard and
then the cup on high for we have
thwarted the arrogent I.

Having done so we are rewarded
with a depth of understanding
and the wonder of a greater WE.
