I Watch It Cause I Like It Poem by John W. McEwers

I Watch It Cause I Like It

Whenever a friend comes over
I imagine he or she will comment
on the steady stream of Law and Order
that radiates from the tele-v.

There are a lot of episodes, though,
and it's become a quest.
I'd follow those eyebrows anywhere,
a voice I recognize as my own whispers.

And then I'd offer them a beer if I had any.
