I Was Not There Poem by Alexander Downie

I Was Not There

I was not there as you talked around me,
discussing the drugs you want to give and cures.
You talked in circles, whispers and harsh glances,
not understanding those evil circles destroyed my soul.

Muffled sounds from toilet walls surround my lost name,
more advice from the people that have driven me insane.
I am no longer here, a kind decent man has departed,
like a still born foetus, no strength to end what others started.
