I Was Beautiful Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

I Was Beautiful

I was beautiful
Relatively
I was strong
Relatively

Now
I loiter
Miserably

A willing ghost
Willing shroud
That pains
To be.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I rarely, rarely give suggestions to poets about their poems. There's something here at Poem Hunter, a bond we all share in finding the truth and beauty in each poem we read. There is an entirely different paradigm in a workshop where poets have signed up to improve their craft and intend to revise based on peer reviews. That model is NOT the Poem Hunter model. B-U-T forgive me for breaking my own rationale, but I would like to see a version of THIS THEME - I am beautiful - expressed positively, developed toward affirmation, treated as true! !
