I'Ve Never Really Been In Love Poem by Uriah Hamilton

I'Ve Never Really Been In Love

Rating: 5.0

Have you ever sat
At coffee with a friend
And listened to
The soft and lovely words
From her mouth
Like they were divine notes
That Mozart composed
As she insisted:
“Tell me if you were
ever in love.”?

Suddenly, there is silence,
The mind drifts to a thousand places,
The imaginary embraces,
The candlelit rooms,
The summer café,
The sidewalk saunter in the rain,
The secret desire to touch her face.

And finally, you return
To her inquisitive eyes and say,
“No, I’ve never really been in love.”
