I'Ve Never Felt So Alone Poem by Megan Haskins

I'Ve Never Felt So Alone

I've never felt so alone in my
entire life as I do right now.
Surrounded by a sea of people
no ambition, no drive, no motivation.
'You want to do too much' they say
but since when did this become a bad thing?
No one gave me the memo.

Being alone is never taken seriously
a whole generation trying so hard to be alone.
Wanting to be different to everyone else
wanting problems, drama and issues.
But they're all singing the same song
they're alone and different together.
If only they knew what it was really like.

Being truly alone is about having no one
there with you, no one to have your back.
It's about having no one to share your
hopes, dreams and ideas with
It's about being forced to follow the
crowd and not letting yourself be.
But for me to not even have yourself
is to be the most alone in this world.

That last line of your poem Megan really sums it up. In order to find connection with others we need to find ourselves.
