I'Ve Been Exposed Poem by Desirae Roa

I'Ve Been Exposed

I was once told “Keep your heart open wide, and save it for somebody who cares”
I’m ready to give this all I have, I’m standing here all by myself trying to find ways to make this life my own because nothing’s going to keep this heart from beating. She turns the pages of her life story every day, just to change the mood but every chapter reads the same event she’s never gotten over and it only makes it harder for her to find ways to start new and push through. Time’s racing, I got to find a way out of here I’m completely hopeless but hoping. She’s giving, only so he can keep taking and its sincere love that you want but not sincere love that you make. That summer was full of mistakes we wouldn’t learn from except that one, remember we tried to fight for what we thought we believed in and I don’t see how you thought any of this was easy. But we tried to fight just not our hardest, I guess sometimes you find it’s pointless. Give me any reason to believe because I swear I’m about done here. Tell me that it’s worth it because I’m trying to do all I can to fight it and find myself in time, I’ve never been so scared and that moments finally here. My heart is somewhere else this is a type of pain I’ve never felt before. I know that words aren’t nearly enough but I thought you were better than this, you know I still can’t believe we both did some things I don’t even want to think about. After all this time you just left me their broken in pieces. This poem is every word that was left unspoken.
