I Thirst Poem by Liam ó Comáin

I Thirst

for aeons I called
yet many remained
unmoved
rejecting my thirst
to be loved

upon the wood
I renewed my call
but some
bore hearts of stone
giving all- my life
on that hill
almost alone

I must love
I am love
for their sakes
for them alone
I seek the love
of all
from the depths
of my heart
I thirst is my call
