I Think I Will Smile... Poem by Dorota Szumilas

I Think I Will Smile...

Rating: 5.0

I think
I will smile at last
at family memories and not only

I think
I will not think of you
It is not worth my time, strength, and will

I think
the world is as beautiful as the trees
in full blossom of this May

I think
the whiteness of lilacs, chestnut, rowans
is beauty one may become
if they only want

I smile
slowly, though, at the beautiful world around me

I smile
also to You

Thought and experience are different. Thought goes with mind and intelligence but the natural emtions go with our heart. To smile, to feel the beauty of the Nature, we require no intelligence but only an open, unconditional, heart. If you think that you will at last smile, you are only at the stage of reasoning it out. Reasoning with our brain to smile or not is not a natural situation. We may smile atlast but the moment our brain goes out, we would also stop smiling. That cannot be the situation. Smile has only one reason. If we are happy, we will naturally be happy and smile will reflect on our lips. If we reason out even to smile, then, shall I explain the situation? A very important lesson to learn in life, to smile even through painful times. I think the one who benifits most from our smile, is ourself. A lovely poem. cheryl
