I Sent Some Chocolates Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

I Sent Some Chocolates

I sent some chocolates to my true love,
And some flowers went along as well.
She said chocolates really excite her,
But passion blooms from the roses smell!

Be my Valentine you ask?
But of course I say I shall.
And had I title to the whole world
It would be yours now my sweet gal.

I watched these flowers bring a smile
Across your most lovely face.
But it was the strawberry filled chocolate
That really sent you to a higher place!

I wrote this poem as a tribute,
To the other poets on this site,
Who are my new precious friends,
That I speak with every night!

Happy Valentine's Day!
