I See Colours Poem by Paula Glynn

I See Colours

Life is beautiful; in living colour,
I see colours when the sun rises,
I see colours when the sun sets,
And when the moonlight reflects off the water,
And I love the crisp air when it snows,
For the world is beautiful,
All the people clapping their hands,
As the theatre show ends,
For, in this world, we are all friends,
And we don't need to fake it or pretend.

I love the colours of the funfair at night,
The summer months lifting everyone's spirits,
And everyone's fun quota and enthusiasm,
For this is everybody's world,
And life should be fun sometimes,
For people add colour to life,
Like fireworks exploding in the sky,
Bursting with imagination and technicolour,
And we all watch in awe,
Because the colours of the world are awesome,
With the many skin colours, languages and creeds.

I like to play my music,
And play anything and everything,
For music adds colour to this earth,
And heaven really is a place on earth,
Everybody contributing to our meal,
And stocking the supermarkets with food & drink,
So if you stop to think,
We are all part of this world,
We have to help and assist each other,
And appreciate those films that make us happy,
For where would we be without Jessica Alba?
We'd have no Dark Angel or other films,
And we - the audience - matter, too,
Because we're all important,
For every job matters and gives the world colour.

So, if you're bored, have a look outside your window:
There is a world of colour out there,
And we are never really alone:
We just assume we are,
We all need that pot of gold,
That four leaf clover,
And to cross our fingers,
Because we are beautiful,
We are colourful and vibrant like fuchsia,
So either take your paints or gasp in awe,
At famous - and not so famous - paintings,
And realise we are all artists in our soul,
We all matter and every job matters,
So dust yourself off and start a brand new day.
