I Saw A Cat Tease A Mouse Poem by Macwolls Kay

I Saw A Cat Tease A Mouse

He looked at her with piercing eyes
Slowly and gracefully, he makes his move
Like a chameleon in motion on a branch.
He stands still hiding his presence
Slowly creeping stealthily shy.

A burning desire lies in his eyes
A sudden leap, to make the close
Giant paws crashing in
He makes his catch and holds on tightly.

Trapped and terrified she lies within his hold
A foe from birth, she stands no chance.

A little bruised, but still holding on
With strive and agility he made his strike
Held firm between frozen jaws
He lacked the will to seal her fate.

He loosens his hold, still terrified
Puzzled by this dazzling contradiction
She stands still, She knows his game
He taps her gently and sits back still
She reads the cue, and makes her leap
but she lacks the strength to make her move.

Soon she's back between the dreaded claws
He teases her over and over
He made her wet, and bruised her ego
But not a scratch to her furry coat.

He torments her for endless hours
But never makes the fatal bite
He takes great care to keep her alive
He seems to be at game with her
His jaw is strong and free from harm
She wonders why he acts this way.

At first she vehemently begged for mercy
But now, she begs for an end to his game
She would rather take the deadly strike
So she could be free from this misery.

He's big in size but weak at heart
He lived a life sheltered and free
The gives of life, abundantly blessed
His will and inner self in lack.
