I Said Goodbye Poem by PHIL WINTER

I Said Goodbye

Rating: 4.5

I said goodbye!
But meant instead...please stay!
I said goodbye!
You took my word, And left that very day!
The silence grew!
I wondered why
I played that game with you!
I said goodbye!
You didn't even ask me why...
Just turned and walked away!
Tell me...did you really care?
Or was goodbye the very word
You always hoped you'd hear?
Was it your long awaited cue?
Was leaving me the secret thing,
You always planned to do?
God! I wish I knew!
Maybe, I never should have tested you!
I said goodbye!
You left me high and dry!
Oh, what a fool was I!

I like this one a lot, Phil! I'm sure it kinds sucks when someone calls your bluff like that. I've been there. Nonetheless, a great poem. Thanks for sharing!
