I Ruled You Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I Ruled You

I Ruled You

I ruled you in a certain way,
A way that led to ruins.
I sought out a certain way,
To help me get out of this disarray.

You see, my heart was jaded,
In ways unforeseen.
My heart was a conquerer,
In bad results seen.

I treated you badly.
You reacted sadly.
I didn't know how to stop,
Doing bad things to you.

I was an offender.
A daily sender,
Of bad thoughts and bad deeds.
Of sad thoughts and sad deeds.

At last I knew what I had done to you.
My broken heart and sadness knew,
That I had abused you,
And there was very little chance to say I'm sorry.
