I remember…
The life of those gone by
The smell of rain upon the air
The sight of snowflakes dancing in the night
The spider in the attic
The grimy train car windows rattling the visions flashing past

I remember…
The sky on that fateful day
The sea as it shone from his eyes
The life she’ll never have
The sun as it lights up the valley
The soft silk feel of the night air

I remember…
Her laugh as she looked at me
His smile as he sang with me
The flutter of my heart as we looked at the stars
The sweet serenity of the clear blue, mountain view
The rough feel of the scales against my finger tips

I remember…
The cries of those in pain
The blood that they shed
The love she lost
The choices we should’ve made
All that we had

I remember…
Everything that matters
And the details you forgot.
