I Remember

I remember your face
i remember your taste
those nights i was alone
i remember your words
i remember your voice
you were there
you took my fears
i remember your touch
i remember your love
i looked at you broken
you sewed me back up
i remember your heart
i remember your eyes
black in the night
i remember your tears
as they fell to my feet
i remember your cries
as you begged me not to leave
i remember your hate
i remember her
i remember that night
full moon set in the sky
I remember your face
scary misplaced
i remember your touch
lustfull, not trust
i remember your eyes
dark and full of lies
i remember your taste disgrace
i remember your face
as you carried me to my room
i remember you holding me
dropping me to the floor
i remember your look
scared and sorry
i remember my heart
and the thread coming undone again
i remember your words
soothing and kind
i remember your voice
when you told me good-night
i'll always remember you
i'll always remember my first love
i'll always remember the pain, the dark,
the good, and the light
i'll always remember you
i'll always remember

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I Remember is about my ex/firsf love. i was with him for two years he hurt me emotionally very badly. he broke my heart. The longer i was with him the more he changed. he was an alcoholic and treated me and his family like s***. we faught constantly everyday for almost the whole two years. He was abusive and i wanted to leave but it didn't matter if i stayed or went home. He was an escape from home. He was my break from all the bad shit i did before him. i knew that no matter what i did my pain was going to be no different and i loved his kids and i knew that if i left i might not see them ever again. but i came to my senses eventually and got away, not only from him but from everything. i moved out of state. i was gone for a whole year and when i came back i did get to see his kids again. they are still a big part of my life even though me and him hate each other. he can't keep me away from them and he knows that. He also knows that i won't forget him no matter how much i try to
